An in-depth introduction to the castanets — their origins, the correct hands and arms, and the first flamenco rhythms.
Level 1 is deliberately narrow. You will play few notes, and you will play them very well. It begins with where the castanets came from and how they are held, and ends with rhythms you can carry into a dance.

Who it is for
Complete beginners, and experienced dancers who have never studied the castanets as an instrument in their own right.
How it is studied
Filmed practical classes, taken in sequence and repeated as often as you like. Fifteen unhurried minutes a day is worth more than a weekly hour.
